Day Double Glazed Units
We offer a same
day replacement DGU (non toughened) double glazed unit
service. If you have a broken double glazed unit and need
this replaced as a matter of urgency, then we can replace
this the same day/ next day. Have misted double glazing
and want replaced ASAP then again, subject to type of glass
we can generally replace these the same day.
1. We would arrange for an experience glazier to call in
to your property to gain an exact measurement.
2. We would then cut the glass back at our factory and manufacture
a new Double glazed unit for immediate installation.
3. We then make a second visit later in the day to install
the newly made double glazed unit
4. We can either supply this only or supply and fit for
your convenience.
Please note that if you choose a supply only double glazed
unit service, you will need to supply us with good sizes,
the price will be delivered, but not installed on supply
only.

Today there is a wide range of glass to choose from. We
supply clear, patterned, mirror, toughened, laminated and
fire resistant all in various thicknesses ranging from 4mm
to 19mm.
Depending on the glass and application it can be toughened
or float (untoughened)
Most orders can be quickly cut to size and ready for your
collection or we can arrange to deliver.
Cat Flaps in Glass
At Cat Flaps East London we can supply and fit / install
a new cat flap or catflap in your single glazed door.
Question.
I need a cat flap fitted in a single glazed door. How long
does this take and what happens?
Answer:
1. We would arrange to visit your home or property at a
convenient time to get an exact measurement of the current
double glazed unit in the door, check what pattern you have
and offer a like for like or an alternative if the glass
is no longer manufactured.
2. We would then cut 2 new pieces of 4mm float glass (plain
or pattern of your choice) to the exact size as measured,
cut a hole in both pieces of glass for the cat flap and
then have the glass toughened. (What is toughened glass)
3. Approximately 2-3 day later the cat flap glass will be
ready to collect from the toughening plant
4. We will then create a sealed double glazed unit which
will have the hole perfectly placed for the installation
of the cat flap.
5. We will then arrange a convenient time with you to replace
your current double glazed unit with the new cat flap ready
double glazed sealed unit.
6. The cat flap is installed once at the property.
Questionuestion
Can you install the cat flap in my existing double glazed
unit?
Answer: No
- The glass in the door should already be toughened and
you can not cut toughened glass, so we will need to replace
the unit (worth hanging on to the double glazed unit we
take put as should you move or need to put this back at
a later date will save you some money) .
Question
I already have toughened glass in my door can you install
the new catflap in that?
Answer:
Im afraid not as the glass is already toughened when you
try to cut it, the glass breaks in to hundreds and thousands
of pieces.
Question
Can I buy any cat flap/catflap?
Answer:
No - The cat flap/catflap must be glass fitting and circular
as it is very expensive to cut a square hole, although not
impossible.

Do You supply cat flaps/catflaps?
Answer:
No - as cat flaps come in different sizes, models, automatic
etc is is best for you to choice a cat flap of your own

years, we have supplied and fitted safety glass to

of hours either early in the morning or later in the

Laminated glass
is
a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered.
This is different from Toughened Safety Glass, In the event
of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically
of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), between its two or more layers
of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded
even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass
from breaking up into large sharp pieces. This produces
a characteristic "spider web" cracking pattern
when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass.
